Engine and Transmission

The Chevrolet Equinox has a 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination generates 175 horsepower and 203 lb.-ft. of torque.

Seating Configuration

Five people can sit inside the Chevy Equinox, which has two front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. Front seating in the Equinox has manual controls, including forward, back, up, and down positioning. The driver’s seat has recline settings for increased comfort, and both front seats have a heat setting with various levels of warmth.

You can reconfigure the rear 60/40 split bench in the Equinox to extend your SUV’s cargo space. Standard seating in the Equinox is made with soft cloth seat trim, while higher Equinox trims have Evotex seat trim.

Cabin Features

The Chevy Equinox has a 6-speaker audio system to project audio evenly throughout the entire cabin and front USB ports to keep all of your compatible devices charged. The 11-inch driver information center allows you to personalize vehicle features, including warning messages and vehicle insights.

Rear Seat Reminder protects small children and pets from being left in the back seat on accident by reminding you to check for remaining occupants before leaving, while the OnStar Basics package offers advanced resources to assist you in the event of an emergency.

The new Equinox comes with Chevy Safety Assist, an innovative collision-avoidance package that includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Following Distance Indicator. Additional driver-assistance functions in the 2025 Equinox include Rear Park Assist and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.
