Performance

The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD have two distinct engine options. The standard engine on Silverado HD pickups is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that supplies 401 HP at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. This engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.

For increased power, stamina, and towing capacity, there’s an available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine for both Silverado HD pickups. This engine produces 470 HP at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm with a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds on the 2500 and 36,000 pounds on the 3500.

Exterior

Silverado HD pickups are known for their rugged, durable exteriors, with convenient features like cab-mounted cargo area lamps and strong cargo tie-downs. All Silverado trucks come with a sturdy Durabed that’s made from high-strength steel to take on the toughest cargo. The CornerStep rear bumper is another standard feature on the Silverado HD, giving you more traction as you climb up into your truck bed.

The Silverado 2500 HD comes with 17-inch steel painted silver wheels with all-season tires, while the 3500 has 18-inch steel painted silver wheels with all-terrain tires. Base trims on both models have black bumpers, black beltline moldings, and black vertical trailering mirrors.

Seating

Inside the Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD, there are two bench seats that each fit three passengers, giving you 6-passenger seating in total. A unique feature of the Silverado lineup is the under-seat storage compartment you can find beneath the front bench. The rear bench also supports interior cargo, with seat bottoms that fold up to give you space on the floor.
